In my book Memorial Day is the unofficial kick off to Summer – beach vacations, BBQ’s, Festivals, and pool days are here! To keep my skin glowing and protected – sunscreen is necessary. Yes black women do tan and can get sun burnt – trust me I’m speaking from experience.
I was excited to get to work with Neutrogena again. This time show casing their Hydro Boost Water Gel Sunscreen lotion.
Sun screen shouldn’t only be worn when you are hanging out by the pool or at the beach, but during all of your summer activities – biking, running, or even playing with the kids.
Continue reading to find out more about sunscreen in general, but most importantly find out more information on the Hydro Boost Water Gel Sunscreen.
Sunscreen is sort of a sponge, absorbing in the skin, where it converts the sun rays into less damaging form of radiation. There is a difference between UVA and UVB rays. UVA rays can permanently age your skin by causing wrinkles and age spots, where as UVB rays are what causes you to get sunburnt. Sunscreen should be applied 15 minutes before being in the sun and reapplied every 2 hours after being in the water or sweating heavily.
After finding out all of these facts about the protection you get from sunblock, it was a no brainer that the Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel lotion was going to be a keeper for all of the fun in the sun I would be experiencing.
This Neutrogena hydro boost water gel sun lotion provides UVA/UVB protection in a water light feel and also quenches skin with major hydration that our body needs during the hot summer days. Another plus, is that is water resistance and also moisturizes for eight hours without the white marks that typical sunscreens leave.
I decided to use the SPF 50 (also comes in 30) since I planned to be out all day in the sun. The lotion is very smooth and gentle doesn’t feel greasy like typical sunscreen lotions. There is a slight fragrance, but nothing overwhelming. It was so light that I forgot that I even put any on – seriously that light. I wasn’t in the water too much, so I reapplied a little and didn’t burn at all. Great to know that I’m protected and safe, while having fun.
So ladies, please PLEASE make sure that you have some form of sunscreen with you this summer – but I highly recommend the Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel
