Every once in a while we all fall off track of something that we are doing. We get involved in something else, or we are just having fun enjoying life in general. If you’ve fallen off track you have the tendency to beat yourself up – STOP!! Don’t beat yourself up, it happens to the best of us. These are a few things that I’ve been doing, because I too have fallen off track with a couple of things, but it’s time to get back on track.
I’m not really a big accessory person – I wear the same watch, bracelet, ring and earrings to work everyday. On occasions where I do want to dress up an outfit I will find some dainty accessories that last over time and are also fitting for me and my style. I choose dainty accessories, because sometimes you can get a little carried away and take away from the outfit.
A couple months ago I was watching youtube and saw one of the The Glam Twinz was wearing various necklaces, but one stuck out to me. They were nice enough to list where they got the pieces from so I went and tried to order it and my luck they were out of stock. Fast forward to a couple months ago riding in the car with a friend and I get a notification that it’s back in stock – it was a no brainier that I needed this.
The chain is very delicate and looks great paired with a gold choker that I already had. I do appreciate the fact that Child of Wild sent instruction on how to care for the piece as well.
Depending on what necklace I am wearing will help determine what earrings that I’ll wear. You don’t want to over do it, so I suggest keeping it simple. I have two ear piercing so I always wear my smaller studs in my top hole. Lately, I’ve been into wear these light weight hoops (bigger the hoop, bigger the…jk) from [ HERE ] Aldo. You know how annoying it can be to hold your phone to your ear with big hoops in — not with these, they lay flat so you can talk away.
Y’all already know how I feel about shoes – so of course shoes are always a great accessory to give that plain outfit a little spice or even a pop of color. These that are shown above are old (5 years to be exact) and I couldn’t find the link but these (CLICK HERE) are equally cute and will give any outfit a pop of color. I’m a fan of shoes, so I don’t mind spending a little extra on some that I really want (need)!
My watch is not the typical big face watch that everyone is wearing – I’ve had this watch for a few years and because I’ve started mixing and matching my golds and silvers this just seemed to work out better. Plus my big face MK watch is too big (weight loss – yasss!)
I’ve gotten into wearing a thumb ring and because I can’t keep up with them – I found some inexpensive ones at Old Navy so if I lost one I wouldn’t be too upset.
These two dainty bracelets are from Fabrik they are great to wear to work or to play.
I’ve also been wearing these cute women empowerment/inspirational bangles that I got from Aldo.
Another accessory for me is your purse – I’ve been overly obsessed with this Louis Vuitton Toiletry bag for a couple years – finally got my hands on one and any chance I get to go out – I’m coordinating my outfit around this bag. It doesn’t have to be an expensive purse/clutch trust me I have a few from places you would never even think to look. If you have a simple outfit a purse/clutch with a pop of color will and can take it to another level.
The final accessory that seals any outfit is your smile. When you are smiling you stand out and look amazing. Smiling is the cheapest, but the most important and greatest accessory a person can wear.

I know I’m a couple days late in welcoming fall – but I did have Pumpkin Spice Latte on Friday to commemorate the first day of fall. After going through summers in South Carolina, you’ll be excited as I am for fall days to come. For me fall just isn’t about football games, sweaters, PSL’s, cooler days – it’s about a new season in personal growth.
During the end of the summer months, I was transitioning into my new place and determining what I want to accomplish within the next 6 months to a year. Actually sitting down and looking at mistakes that I’ve made and goals that I have met are hard and can make you emotional, but it was necessary. Necessary to set myself up for success – I’m 31 years old and I have so much more to accomplish in life.
My goals this season ranges from physical fitness, eating healthy, reading more, educating myself on the next step in my career, financial freedom – a little of everything. I know that I won’t achieve everything in the next 3 months, but I can start the ball rolling now. I know that I’ve been slacking on my posting, but don’t worry it’s apart of my goals to achieve this season.
Therefore, don’t just think of Fall as the time to pull out your sweaters, Uggs and drink PSL’s. Think about the bigger picture and what you want for yourself. So that when the end of the year comes, you aren’t thinking that you wasted the months away. Now, don’t get me wrong you can still enjoy the essentials of what Fall has to offer – while still doing what you need to do to achieve greatness.
I finally found someone that can do my lashes and she is actually reasonable and her work is
really sooooo good. Imperial Luxe LLC is the truth. These are my before and after pictures from my first appointment.
A couple weeks ago I wanted some crab legs and decided to get some from the grocery store and grab some. Let’s just say they were bomb.com
Took my mini me back to school shopping, it still amazes me how much she has grown. I love when we spend time together – make me want a daughter – one day!
Showing off one of favorite pair of shoes to wear when I’m running errands or whatever I threw them on to run to grab pizza with my Ashley and Jace one night.
As the world knows South Carolina – Columbia to be an exact was a hot spot to see the solar eclipse. This was the only photo that I was able to take. It was pretty cool to see and experience. It was a little scary when the animals and the bugs started going crazy once it got dark.
Let’s just say that I won’t be cooking any bacon in the oven anytime soon. It looks worse than it really is.
A couple Saturdays ago – as you know I celebrated my birthday – these were some shots from it. So thankful for all the text, emails, comments and phone calls. I felt so loved and appreciated. And yes I was extra and had a filter for my birthday!
This past weekend my college room mate and fellow Virgo sister celebrated her birthday – it was so much fun and I was happy to see her because it’s been a while since we’ve hung out together. It brought back so many memories of the good ol’ days in college! I love this black dress I wore – forever21 – great to have in the closet for unexpected nights or even when you want something classy, but fun!
Summer is almost over and I can’t deny that I’m over the South Carolina heat and humidity – as you can see from the photo’s my hair is over it too. I found this cute top at The Loft and I felt it was perfect for last couple days of summer going into Fall – you have your “cold” shoulder but then you have your long sleeve – the “comfortable” side.
For some reasons pinks, reds and dark wines have been some of my favorite colors as I’ve gotten older “Fine like wine” is the thought that comes to mine when I talk about these colors.
If you know me then you know that I can be very indecisive when it comes down to clothing. I went back and forth on this dress. I wanted something that was young and playful, but also mature with a little sassy-ness to it + it had to be comfortable.
This dress fit all the criteria – I found it on Forever21 and decided to pair it with some Sam+Libby shoes that I got from Target a few years ago that have been decoration in my room because lace up shoes and I don’t really mix but the day I took these pictures they worked perfect. I’m not a big jewlery person so I just kept it simple with my watch and two bracelets I picked up at Fabrik.
With my 31st birthday being T O D A Y – still hard to believe that I’m in my 30’s, but none the less I’m loving every minute of it. I take everyday as a learning experience, never take a day for granted. I think of all the lesson’s that I’ve learned this far, that I wish I would have known at 25 or even younger.
If I would have known these things, I wonder how different my life would be right now. Since we can’t look into the future, nor go back – let me share a few things that may help a 25 year old woman or even a 31 year old that is still coming into her own.
