A few weekends ago I had my makeup done at a local beautiful store (Pout) that provides luxury and affordable makeup products. Christi was my makeup artist for the day. When I scheduled the appointment I did ask that she use Smashbox products because y’all know I live by them and their products. During the application she asked me if I wanted to try a different concealer – hesitant but always willing to try something once I went for it. After the process I decided to purchase the concealer that she used – NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer just to see how it holds up compared to the Smashbox Studio Skin 24 hour Waterproof Concealer. I’ve only been using the NARS for two weeks, but it’s a contender in becoming one of my go to products. So continue reading to see what I’ve come up with for both products. Everyone that knows me knows that I love a good weave. (Weave is an option, not necessity – don’t get it twisted) I’ve been through a couple of hair stylist here locally trying to find the right one that can not only do a good sewin but also help maintain my natural hair – that’s another blog post in itself.
I’ve been natural for about 2 years now. I mostly wear Sewins with a closure and recently got into braids. Both are great protective styles that give my hair a break from all the heat.
You want to make sure that you wash your weave every 2-3 weeks. I think (I’m not a professional nor do I claim to be) but I think that one of the most important thing you can do for your weave and that is to treat it like it’s your own hair. I had a couple people tell me about Silicon Mix was a great shampoo for weave and also your natural hair (if you choose to leave some of your natural hair out), but no one mentioned how good the conditioner is.
During the holidays I had a full face custom makeover at Sephora. During the process, the consultant tried new products on me some were added to my makeup bag and others were left at the store. So today I want to share some of the products that I walked away (purchased) – not all the products shown in the pictures were purchased during this makeover.
A couple months ago I did the Mario Badescu skin analysis and received the sample products. My determination was that it was too time-consuming and that I didn’t necessarily need all of the products. In a recent browsing session at Ulta I ended up in the skin care area. Just looking around and I found three new products that I hope will help my battle with dark spots and dark circles. I’ve only been using them for about a week now, but my skin is very smooth to the touch and it is definitely not time-consuming. I already wash my face twice a day and a couple days out the week I already do face mask.
Over the past couple weeks Sephora and I have became fast friends. It’s my go to place now for all my makeup essentials. It’s just something about walking into the store and having a “professional” all the questions that my research couldn’t answer.
For my readers, you may recall that I purchased the Mario Badescu Hydro Moisturizer with Vitamin C a couple weeks ago after I was shamed into using a moisturizer. I’ve absolutely falling in love with this moisturizer. I won’t ramble on and on about it, just know that it is a must have. I also told you about how on the website you could answer a few questions about your skin type and they would send you products that will help your particular skin type. I finally got my sample pack. It took about 15 business days for it to get to me. I even had to call the customer service line to find out what was going on. the representative told me that may order had been received and that it would take a couple days because the samples are such a high demand. A couple days later I checked the mail and it was here. As you can see in the picture below it came in a white branded envelope.
When your foundation runs out and you’ve watch at least 90 you tube videos on different foundations and the one that everyone talked about and gave rave reviews on you go and purchase it. Everyone was talking about the NARS Sheer Glow Foundation. I’ve researched it for about 30 minutes before I went to Sephora, and I got mixed reviews, so I went to the store to see for myself. The beauty consultant took some of my makeup off and applied a moisturizer (because it helps the foundation go on better and lasts longer) and then applied two different foundations on each side of my face. The Sheer Glow and the All Day Luminous Weightless foundation — because I was unsure of which was going to give me the most coverage and if it would look natural on me.
