We all lead crazy busy lives and it can be hard to get the necessary downtime that we desperately need. We all just need to be to ourselves – no distractions, just you relaxing with a glass of wine and your favorite shows. Studies have shown that alone time, can increase productivity. Trust me, after a weekend to myself – Monday morning I wake up refreshed and ready to take on Monday. We all have moments where we need to have alone time. Here are a few reasons why alone time is a good idea.
Every once in a while we all fall off track of something that we are doing. We get involved in something else, or we are just having fun enjoying life in general. If you’ve fallen off track you have the tendency to beat yourself up – STOP!! Don’t beat yourself up, it happens to the best of us. These are a few things that I’ve been doing, because I too have fallen off track with a couple of things, but it’s time to get back on track.
I know I’m a couple days late in welcoming fall – but I did have Pumpkin Spice Latte on Friday to commemorate the first day of fall. After going through summers in South Carolina, you’ll be excited as I am for fall days to come. For me fall just isn’t about football games, sweaters, PSL’s, cooler days – it’s about a new season in personal growth.
With my 31st birthday being T O D A Y – still hard to believe that I’m in my 30’s, but none the less I’m loving every minute of it. I take everyday as a learning experience, never take a day for granted. I think of all the lesson’s that I’ve learned this far, that I wish I would have known at 25 or even younger.
If I would have known these things, I wonder how different my life would be right now. Since we can’t look into the future, nor go back – let me share a few things that may help a 25 year old woman or even a 31 year old that is still coming into her own.
I’ve been running around like a lost puppy with a planner for the last couple of weeks. I do use my work calendar and even my iCal but it is not the same as writing things down. For me it almost makes it stand out more in my mind. So when my planner recently ended it was a no brainier that I needed a new one – not just any old planner but one that helped manage everything from my 9-5 to my blog and everything else that comes up.
I’ve heard and read several people talk about Erin Condren planners and how great they are – I wasn’t impressed. I did some research and found Plum Paper.
During my 1st quarter review of my blog I discussed how I’ve heard a lot about how branding for your blog/business is so important. The issue that I struggled with was turning it (the blog) into a “flourishing” (profitable) side hustle and keeping it strictly fun and helping like minded women – staying true to who I am.
Long story short – I can do it all and it can be done effortless. I came to this conclusion after spending a Saturday sitting in the middle of my bed with no tv on – just music (SZA’s Ctrl Album to be specific) and candles burning, working on my Brand Beginnings 101 Werkbook, that the talented marketing genius Courtney Brand, created.
If you follow me on IG then you saw my post on how I stumbled across The B Werd, early last year after it was launched and this was a major motivator in me revamping and relaunching my blog. After I completed this werkbook, I was more than motivated to continue to take ForeverShauni to the next level, plus it also gave me the inspiration and courage to start the process on my next Side Hustle (you can never have to many streams of income).
I am ashamed to say this, but I started this book in January when I was traveling to Miami. Once I got to Miami it was a done deal trying to read anything. I tried my best to pick up the book every night to read it but, it was a struggle. But I finally made it.
I will say this book is really good – certainly a page turned – some things I already knew or have heard before, but hearing it again made me think about things a little deeper.
